This thing looks fun, stable and enjoyable. I wonder how good it would be for crabbing or floating on the American River, Klamath or the might Mad River.

I wonder how they compare to a Hobie, Ocean Kayak or Jackson when it comes to Surf and basic paddling

Also interested in starting prices :-)

And Headwaters carries them too.  I demo'd one last week with them.  The open deck space with lots of room was awesome.  So was the 360 swivel seat, although I wish it locked in place while paddling.  One downside to the seat is that my regular 230 paddle was too short since you are so high off the water.  Dan had a 260 for the demo.  A paddle that long just feels ... well, long.  Not the fastest of yaks, but the wide flat bottom means you can turn on a dime.

I have a 240 and it is a little short with my high seat on my ride.

I wonder about demoing one my main goals would be local lakes, ponds, American River, Sac River and different ocean areas for crabbing and what not. I do like how stable it is from the research I did but having a swivel seat that doesn't lock may not be ideal for quick movement IDK.

There is a big swap meet at the headwaters this Saturday. I know they will be having a couple of NuCanoes on special.

someone earlier in the post had said that they dont think that they would take one of the NUcanoes out in the ocean? why is that? they are larger and more stable yes? isnt that what one looks for in an ocean kayak? my mind has just been effed

the wider the sloooower,,,,,just look at the Fish Reports from places that you'll be wanting to fish. Lake, river or ocean. See what others already have and start your searching from that. The fact that the seat DOES NOT LOCK(wtf?!) would be a major issue for me. High center of gravity would also be an issue(for me).

at first glance these things look great. but when you throw in the subtly of things like moving around with a seat that doesn't lock and the high center of gravity...the cons stay to out weigh the pros in this case. I'm glad i have a plethora of knowledge to pull from in the members here. because at first look it seems like this would be something that i would want. thanks for the feedback guys. the knowledge is invaluable
