Maiden voyage

Picked up my new Tarpon 160 at noon today in Sac. Picked up my spare paddle from Rockfish at 12:45. Took care of a couple customers after that. On the water at 4pm. New fishing kayak cherry popped at 5 or so. 15.5 inch LMB. Nothing to write home about, but skunk is already off the boat. Who needs rigging to fish. Just add a few rods and crate. Go fish. Sorry, no pic of fish. It was too small for Kayak wars so I kicked it loose. Then realized I should have taken pick of first fish. Weimarian was a witness.

Rob, i just switched to a 16 foot kayak myself & now I know why you like that extra length. Congrats on the new kayak!

And I caught an 18" crappie!!!!!! I did see the minnow he caught...  I got zilch... Some fishy looking water though. $10.00 to park was a bit steep... Rollins is gonna be my Goto.... Free launch!!!!!!! Gonna find those Crappie this year!!!!

It sits a little higher and the seat feels different. I need to get on the water a few times to give a fair comparison. I will give a review in a couple weeks or so. It seems to paddle easy. I'm not used to a rudder anymore. Turns too fast it seems. I don't plan on using the rudder too much though. Reports to follow.
