Definitely +1 on the circle hooks.  I like 1/0 or 2/0 gamakatsu octopus circle with my jumbos.  99 out of 100 times it's hooked in the corner of the mouth allowing for a clean release.

I'm with Traildad....I have never fished here and wonder what I should bring.

I am going to get there on Saturday around lunch time...would anyone be willing to do a little "fishing class" for us newbies?

Yak - what kinds of rules do we need to be aware of for the C & R pics?

I'll be there early Saturday morning, my advice to ppl new to fishing here is to drift minnows, I've had good luck with that and trolling for stripped bass

+1 on the Agents.  For me, shad patterns have produced also.

+1 if you really want to catch something, jumbo secret agents for bass jr secret agents for panfish. I would use light wire circle hooks. Since this is a CNR tourney and I don't eat delta fish anyway I will be fishing lures and flies only. I didn't catch anything last year but neither did a lot of people using agents.

Thanks for all the tips guys!  :smt006

Wow another great event. NCKA members are great!  I had fun at the sat potluck. I caught three shakers, two Stripers and one Bass. If only I had spent more time looking for catfish. I had a unbelievable moment heading towards the bridge on my way back in. I was paddling along when I saw the splash of a fish rolling and I looked and here comes a sturgeon. It must have been at least 5 feet long. The head was huge. It was swimming almost right at me. It was a bit scary as I wondered if it might hit my kayak. I could see it perfectly as the water was clear and it swam within a few feet of me. If only I could have had easy access to a camera. I felt like captain Ahab staring the white whale in the eye. It was thrilling. Hope to see everyone at the next one.

Thanks Eric!  Another great Yakhopper event.  There may have only been one this year, but it was FIRST CLASS as usual.
