Feelings about worms

I hold the filets up to light and they are easy to spot.

That's our process.  ... and no rare rockfish/halibut.

squirt lime on the fillet, and they come right out. I found this out making ceviche. Tried whole fillet/marinade. Bottom line, if you see it, take it out, but if you knew what was in your food, you would be a vegetarian and skin and bones. We fillet, rinse off, and bag for freezing or immediate cooking. #ignoranceisbliss

+1 on eating the fish, if they have a few parasites no biggie.  Found them in all the bigger fish I have caught in the ocean, except Salmon I think.  But there were a few times I caught something like a Gopher that was COVERED in the things.  I released him, but really thought about putting it out of it's misery...

 

  I gota say, not much creeps me out (Phobia with slugs & snails, can't touch them with out a glove on!) but reading all the crap that infests our local catches, makes me want to have gloves on when I do start to handle the fish!

Not to harp on this, but it's been bugging me...

Please don't throw away fish guys...if the worms gross you out that bad, then freeze them.

I think freezing sucks for the quality of the meat for a lot of fish, but it is still WAY better than just throwing the fish away.

I live 30mins from Monterey, please just call me to pickup the fish on the weekends if I am not already there!!!! ROFL

I'm Immune suppressed and eat what I catch or shoot. I make sure it is cooked well. I was told I can't eat raw seafood. So I don't do that you guys can eat my share.

Tastes like chicken.
