My Brother works in the gun area of Cabalas between Spokane and Coeur'd Alene. He said it was bad there as well on all ammo stuff. Yesterday I was in L.A. thought I'd stop in at Sports Chalet. They had nothing in ammo. So I broke down and checked WalMart. ( I hate that PLace) but they had 30-06 shells for 21.00 a box i bought two. No 22 ammo. I have the powder and primers. I good there. Brother-in-law has had a 10-22 break down on order since before X-mas.  :smt009 So I'm investing in ammo. Wait till they pass the new laws I wrote my state senator in Santa Cruse. And met with our assembly man this week end. Our sheriff sent a letter to tell Biden to screw off. But i'm a little worried about our state law. Not too much though. Read the Dick Act of 1902. In it it states you can buy any and as many guns that you can afford. It also states the act is not reversible. Not many people know about this Act.

Luckily the democrats no longer have a majority in California so as long as the republicans keep to their no gun law stance we might be ok, unlike what they have done in the past to our state.  There have been a few republicans that have been going against the grain and have been voting yes on new gun laws.  Fingers crossed.

I got lucky and just happened to place a big order for powder and primers right before sandy hook.  This sucks though... I feel like I can't even afford to go to the range.  I don't want to part with an ammo for the sake of practice.  Shotguns seem to be the only thing you can find these days.  I recently purchased a remington 870 tactical (6 shot, short barrel) just because it was there.

I went to Wild Sports in Orangevale the other day for ammo; 22 and 12gauge.  They limited me on 2 boxes of each.  Lucky I had my wife with me. I got 4 each that way!! Ha!

Only one type of 22 ammo and they only had #4 buck for the shotgun.

A customer next to me pointed to some boxes of ammo on the shelf and asked what that was. Some weird caliber of some sort, can't recall now.  He asked how much of it the store had and how much he could buy.  He could buy 500 rounds and the store had plenty.  The guy said, 'I'll take 500 rounds of that and any gun in the store that will shoot it.'  That's what it's coming to; buy the ammo FIRST, then the gun just so you have something useful.

Is it Yugoslavia ammo?  Post a pic. I have a Turkish Mauser and if it is the right kind I could always use extra on top of what I have. But I won't pay a crazy price, I already have a lot.

Scott,

Its this....I actually have 1 full box and 17 rounds (in another). Since I am giving the gun back to my brother in law I don't really have a need for it. I just would like to recoup the cost. Not looking to make a profit.

its this flavor...i did pay a bit more then midways price. $40 and both boxes are yours. I can even ship it to you assuming there are no issues with ammo via USPS priority.

I looked at the dick act and found nothing that states we can buy what we want. From what I gather it's more about the local national guard Vs Army Reserves, and when uncle Sam has the right to mobilize the guard.

Anthony Look at the last two sentences of the 1st paragraph. I didn't copy the whole act.

The Dick Act of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 invalidates all so-called gun-control laws. It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities.
The three classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia, the unorganized militia and the regular army. The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy.

The Dick Act of 1902 cannot be repealed; to do so would violate bills of attainder and ex post facto laws which would be yet another gross violation of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The President of the United States has zero authority without violating the Constitution to call the National Guard to serve outside of their State borders.
The National Guard Militia can only be required by the National Government for limited purposes specified in the Constitution (to uphold the laws of the Union; to suppress insurrection and repel invasion). These are the only purposes for which the General Government can call upon the National Guard.

Eric, my Turkish mauser uses 7.65X53.  Even though they call it an 8mm, it is a different size then what you have.  But thanks for posting.
