Gets interesting at the 1:30 mark

At 2:04 mins. during his first attempt to get back aboard, the FF was on the way.  Definitely did not help.
I guessing on his 2nd attempt he opted to get back in at the stern and did it successfully.  Lesson learned there.

Wow... That looks pretty scary.  :smt009  Doesn't look very easy to flip back over a PA.

Twice he went into the water!  Sucked watching his rod sink by the camera while it was flipped.
Didn't look too deep there, he may beable to retreive his rod on a calmer day.

Sucky end to the day. This is a good video on why everyone should take 1 day out of every month to dump their kayak and hop back aboard a couple times.

I was in a similar situation 3 years ago crabbing on my Revo 13 in HMB.  Turned ugly with 10 foot waves and 15 knots wind.  I had 3 crab pots with me.  Thankfully I got in the harbor safe.

Man, that's a crappy turn of events. Looks like lots of lost gear. I'll definitely start leashing more of my gear after seeing this!

The seat on the PA sure looks tall.
For an unfortunate series of events, the vid was pretty cool. The wind conditions blew up FAST.
I kept thinking "stay low, stay low" while he was reboarding, but those PA's are really stable. Glad he & his dad were able to beat back to shelter before things got really out of hand, 'cause that was close!

Pedals are a life saver in this situation to get yourself out of harms way fast.  If you have to paddle, definitely need to adjust your blade angle to decrease the wind drag.  I am talking from experience.

I'm pretty sure its a Holden Ute.  Super popular in Australia.  Remember when Pontiac brought back the GTO a few years ago?  It was a Holden Commodore body with a GTO badge on it.

As far as the capsize.  Well, that sucks.  Prepare for the worst and Practice Practice Practice.

Yeah, he was moving fast once he got it flipped over. Sure can't beat the speed of the flippers.

However, you can brace with a paddle before you go all the way over, and the pedals don't offer that last ditch recovery option.
