A lot of you guys know that my wife Ana I are pretty active in raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through Team in Training.

One of our local Santa Cruz Honorees, Greg Melendy, has been fighting HARD against Leukemia for 8 years since he was 16.

When Greg is healthy enough he comes to cheer us on at our track practices, on our longer runs, and joins us for pizza after.

Despite everything he has gone through he has always stayed as positive as possible.

Well....currently his "prognosis for survival is very low".

This is from his Dad's blog:   "The medical staff agree that this is not a recoverable situation. There are many factors that go into that conclusion. The biggest are that Greg is allergic to most antibiotics, now, and that any heroic measures would be unlikely to produce more than a short respite before leukemia became the final arbiter of longevity. The plan is to bring Greg home under care of hospice. It looks like that will happen Wednesday. It is hard not to believe that a miracle could still occur, but that really is very unlikely."

I'm sharing this with you guys because I need someone to share it with...I keep on thinking back to my last few interactions with Greg and wishing I had talked to him more...if I knew it might be the last time I was going to see him I sure would have.

 :smt009

Also sharing this because you never know...miracles DO happen, and it never hurts to send good vibes, thoughts and prayers out there.

So, if you can...send a little positive energy out into the universe for Greg. He sure could use it.

Thanks fellas.

Sincerely,

Jim

ps...attached is a pic of Greg and Robin Williams. He got to meet him through the Make a Wish Foundation.

Tears me up to read that.  You know I'm a huge believer in positive vibes, and I'll keep Greg in my thoughts and prayers for sure.

thinking of your friend Greg and all who need good vibes.  Just remember that we all die, its just a question of when.  So live your life, remember each day is a gift.  From what I can see Greg does.  So do you Jim.
