I went to my local ljjquor store. There were two homeless sleeping
On the street. Went home and cooked some soup and got two blankets me and the mrs weren't using. Brought even back and have em a hot soup and some blankets. I had tears in my eyes the entire way back. Felt great and sad at the same time.

Hope they make it thru the night

I live pretty close to discovery park where many of Sac's homeless live. I give whenever I can too. It's tough out there for everyone and we all need a little help sometimes. I think we should follow in Mr. Matt's example. Way to go man, good on ya!

Man, I got home, apartments a warm 72. Wife is all supportive as always.
Seriously, my heart is just fucking broke thinking of them sleeping out there.

Don't know what to do. Am torn about it.

Thanks Matt for this. This is what is the most admiring part of being a human being. The railroad tracks are behind my house where I walk Tessa everyday. We have a great shelter here in Petaluma. Only the hardcore are still out there tonight in thier hooches. I have literally watched an individual age what looks like 25 years in two living out there. My hats off to you brother. Proud to call you my friend.

I don't think I've met you yet Matt but I know now how a great person you are.  I truly admire what you are doing.  Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Thanks guys. Means a lot.

Hardest thing was going home. I'm back with my wife in our warm home, but seriously, what the f can I do? If I had homeless folks in my house I'd be up all night with a loaded 40 in my hand... It really is a shit situation.

Guess we can only do as much as we can do.

You can't save the world.  But you did make a difference.  I'm glad you shared your experience.

Well said buddy.

Matt...it's a fucked up thing. I've struggled with seeing it in my personal life and in my professional...You did good today and realistically went above and beyond. Hug your wife and sleep good knowing you did what you could to help.

Proud to call you a friend.

Sincerely,

Jim

Hey, you do what you can, when you can. You didn't create their situation, and you aren't solely responsible for fixing it. But you did do something to improve it.

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.
