I'm really skeptical of that pic that's been circulating this weekend. Fish sniffer pose and all. Still, looking at his fingers the crab is huge in comparison, but 11 lbs?  I dunno about that. I'd love to see independent confirmation/verification and a measurement of the shell.

Exactly.  The first thing to acknowledge, IMO, is that he's holding it way out front.  Let's see a scale or AT LEAST a measure across the back - an 8" dungie would be HUGE, so was this a 9"?...

Side bet.  I vote for longest rockfish entered in the tourney, on tourney day.

I want to see a 26" verm win!

I'm in and will be looking for Kayote and Al to give them my $.

I think that would be the state record. If I'm not mistaken the record verm is around 13 & 1/2 lbs!
I'm in!!

Im not sure either, but the crab we got from the commercial guy there were bigger than any crabs I have seen or caught in Trinidad or Eureka.

Had a gentleman in the store today said he trolled from 10 am to 4:30 pm at the cove and stoppedcounting after landing 26 lingcod on an apex! Only 3 were under 22 inches and he trolled from 20 feet down to 70 feet and said he got some huge lings! Never hooked aling on an apex before!

That was probably Louis or one of his passengers that day.  Same thing happenedto me a week ago on a hootchie.

Any chance of putting together a swap meet at the campground Friday morning- afternoon?  I for one would love to unload a bunch of stuff I can probably live without.

Swap meet sounds great, but lots of guys/gals will be driving in and setting up camp on Friday, I would also try on Sunday morning.
