Brought my 2 yr old fishing for perch today. While I was fiddling with my rod I see her with a fish from the corner of my eye lol. Very proud moment, I didn't even help her cast! Anyways, I have no idea what kind of fish it was so I'm hoping one of u smarter fellas can help. It would be a shame to look back at this one day and not knowing what kind of fish she caught today.

Not sure what that critter is, but seeing your little girl fishing is way cool!  Nice job, Dad!   :smt001

Definitely a kelpfish. Not sure what kind though...either a giant, crevice, or striped kelpfish.

Very cool moment! And a pretty unique 1st Fish!

+1

In all my years of fishing I've only caught one kelpfish.

Way to go Dad and a huge WTG for your daughter!!

she is cute fur sure. i hope olivia fishes with me soon.  she doesnt have that level of patience and understanding yet ..

its not a giant kelpfish, tail not forked.  doesn't look like a striped, those are usually darker and not opaque like that one is.  not a sarcastic fringehead, or you would be down a few fingers (and plus the mouth is wrong  :smt003)
