Just trying to get a sense ... when are you all heading down?  I'm hoping to go down a day or 2 early and get some pre-fishing in.

Flares for night time signaling.
Is this just in case we get lost by the time it gets dark or will there be night time yak fishing allowed.  Also, my understanding is we can fish from the islander at night - ?
Didn't OEX say they would contact us with advice and additional info - ? Hope that's fairly soon

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.

I just this morning asked them if they can have some one drop by this thread.  Expect that to happen shortly.

I just called and talked to CJ, he said they will call about two weeks before the trip for the remainder of the $.  He also suggested looking at
http://bigwatersedge.com/ for information on the trips.

Hey guys just wanted to give a brief rundown on gear.  I will try to get you some better info after next weekend when I go out there and see what is happening.

In general I recommend bringing a 30lb and a 40lb bait rod then a Jig stick.  Also 1-2 15/20lb bass rods are a must if you have never fished SCI for calicos (It is INISANE).

Fishing is pretty standard.  2/0 bait hooks for live sardines.  Bring some 1/2oz eggs sinkers then your standard Rockfish stuff as well.

Like Is aid after next weekend I will put up a report and let you know how the island was doing and whats going on.

Thanks guys!

Thanks Siebler

hopefully those rising faster than normal water temps will mean a better shot at some exotics . Or at least exotic to NCKAers

I plan to head down on Wednesday, Jun 5 in the morning.  I think Jason (Str8fishin) is thinking of doing the same.  I have reservations to stay here.   http://www.dolphin-motel.com/motel.html

Planning on coming back up on Monday.

Still waiting for more feedback as to when you guys are heading down.  OEX would like to host a BBQ for us one evening.  I think a lot of you are heading down a day or 2 early  Just trying to confirm so we can set a day/time.
