I'm out....  :smt009 doing a different trip this year.

Yah! I know! ISLANDER is kinda boring for you Bro!  :smt003 :smt005 :smt044

Kiel
Why do 2 days when I can do 6 and we will be fishing down south.. :smt044 I will miss you guys...a little :smt002

2 days with bros and yaks vs 6 days with elbows and egos...............

just sayin'
Usualy you might be right...but the group I'm going with is a really good bunch of fisherman and I have fished with many of them in the past and  none of them are "that guy". I have been on many trips with egos and elbows this is not on of those. We as the group get to decide where and what we fish for at dinner each night. For me doing 2 days is not enough for the time it takes to go down there. I hope everyone has a great trip!

Need to borrow a yak and seat for pops.  Anyone want to help?  I have the rest of the gear,  just no second yak.

I was going to fly down to San Diego  but changed my mind.  Does anyone have room for one more?  Share gas and driving.

Ray, I'm driving down with Bloodbath. I have room inside the van, but no room for another kayak.

Sailfish has pops covered.  I have room for two on top of my Yukon and Sonny lives closer than you do!  Thanks Allen!   This is going to be great.  I soooo need the time away.  I imagine that we need to pay the balance shortly, right?

Maybe some more experienced guys that have fished these waters can add a little info on gear and such.  What will the water temps be and how should we dress?  Tackle?

Yup.  Zisco is in now as we had a couple of cancellations.  And baitman Jim Martin is in too, taking the second cancellation.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I updated the list on the first post to reflect the current roster.  There are still 3 people on the waiting list, so if you're on the "go" list and have had a change of heart, do let us know so we can straighten things out.

Recommended gear from the Islander website.

Quote
This is a list of gear that we recommend each Kayaker brings on-board the Islander.

Short Bow line, 6-8 feet - Kayaks are often tied off to the dive step.
Bait sled or bait tank - Bait is provided aboard all fishing trips and usually consists of 4- 6 inch sardine.
Rod Holders with leashes
USCG approved Life vest
Hand held VHF radio - The best way to contact the mother ship or skiff. Also a great way to find out what other fishermen are catching.
Flares for night time signaling.
Smoke Signals for daytime signaling.
Sea anchor for both drift fishing and emergencies.
