I was intrigued at the Del Valle sturgeon post as the article reminded me of the fact that the lake has 10 catchable species (and is 15 minutes from my house):
rainbow trout, salmon, bluegill, channel catfish, redear sunfish, black crappie, sturgeon, striped bass, largemouth and smallmouth bass.

So I propose  a one day tournament (proof with pictures no kill?) for the most species caught in one day wins the pot. How interesting would it be to try to rig up for that many different species LOL? How many rod holders does your battleship sport? Of course beer and nefarious illicit but entirely incidental chumming would be recommended.

What, no Carp?

Sounds fun! That's like 8 aoty species if you count sturgeon. When you thinking? End of 2012 or beginning of 2013 w/b sweet.

That lake has been brutally slow for the better part of 2 years ... count me in!  I'm a glutton for punishment.

My wife catches and it frustrate the heck out of me. She will toss a 3' diving small lure in the middle of nowhere on her Zebco and pull out a trout, striper, carp, LMB, SMB all on the same lure. Meanwhile I am working the points, trees, holes with just the right depth, color and speed for the water and target fish. I get a sunburn.  :smt010 :smt010

Del Valle is a fun place to go but targeting all species would be a bear unless you get it on a good day. I was out there last year and drifted in front of the dock for four nice lassen trout. I've also caught stripers years ago and I have also heard they have a good population of slab size crappie.

That lake is a challenge, but I would give it another go.
