Huge Storm Hitting NorCal

 

  KGO and one other news van were perched up on the summit (Hwy17) yesterday when I went over it I laughed.  The road was completly dry, no howling winds, no traffic backups, accidents, no snow, nothing to report.  In fact their presence I think impeaded traffic a little as peeps slowed to see what the hell they were doing!

  It is nice to know that the news people are there to report to us WHAT WE ALREADY FREAKIN KNOW!  If it's raining,the roads are wet!

Freaking dumping and absolutely howling all night here.  Got serenading by chainsaws twice 2am, and again at 3:30, so am assuming SFD was blocked for a bit.

Went to bed with no water in my pond. This morning, overflowing. It rained a lot overnight.

At first light I walked the business park to find my irrigation box lids as they floated away ....time to screw them down again. The water in the streets here got as high as mid-lawn and we are not even in the "flood zone".  Well, we weren't in the flood zone but most of the big channels haven't been cleared in decades due to the salamander and budget woes. The upside is tons of ducks, geese, turkeys etc. hang here...

  Heavy rain all night for me in Felton.  On commute to office, saw that a tree had fallen down across Mt. Hermon rd,(Just at the bridge) but was cut up and out of the roadway.  Could have been a lot worse had the grounds been saturated from weeks of rain in stead of only days!

Looked like you had a hard time installing your "paddle" drive Allen.
