I just got my hands on Hobies new through hull wiring kit. It's a pretty nice piece of hardware. For $12.99 you get two through hull fittings and a variety of different options for wire sizes. If you eventually don't need it they even included a solid insert to block it off. Check it out

Where did you get the kit?  Austin Kayak doesn't have it.

I just ordered one from Tackleshack.com. I've never heard of them before but need one ASAP.

Silicone based grease only!  Petroleum based grease will destroy the rubber seal.

I wished I had known about the two wire version.

The two wire version wasn't usable for me.  The diameter of the Garmin cables is too large to fit the double one.

Just called Headwaters in Redding this am and ordered the last one they had in stock.  Great service over the phone!  Always a pleasure!  Might have to order a second kit in the very near future!

Thanks again!

To my surprise, the kit came in today from Redding!  Ordered Saturday, received Monday!  Thanks again Team Redding.

As for the kit, I like what I am seeing so far.  Well thought out.  I particularly like how they angled the wiring at a fairly steep angle out of the fitting so it doesn't cause it to protrude from the hull at a perpendicular angle.
