I wonder if the AOTY boys would freak if someone used one of these to catch a crappie?

Very nice design but no mention of the total weight.  Also, where to keep the catch ?

dry weight without motor is 100# It is only 11.5' long, 3' wide at widest point. You have to navigate around their website to find the specs, but looks like it would be fun as heck! $4500 price tag is not too appealing though.

100# can be carried around on the car roof top, yeh.  I'll see if I can get a try-out run from them.   If this is designed for fishing, where to keep the catch ?  Good thing is this unit will out run the landlord :smt003, I suppose.  Will not be part of the AOTY though, pure for personal usage.

From their FAQ's:

While the Subaru EX21 is compliant with all EPA and CARB regulations, at this time CA does not recognize the use of an industrial engine for a marine application.  We are in the process of addressing this issue and hope to be able to sell in CA in the near future.

Specs say avg speed of 15-17 mph, landlord files on the internet indicate possible bursts up to 25+mph. Hehe....maybe not outrun, but can certainly not be the slowest one...

That was 100# WITHOUT the motor.  Not really a cartop unit for most of us.  Could not find a "water" weight.

It won't work then.  if that's the case jsut another jet ski not worth look into.
I hope that's not the case if one needs a trailer to haul it around, not sure why they even borther to get into this in the 1st place if not car top loadable.

Can't find anywhere that a rigged, running weight is listed other than 100# hull weight.

My guess is that it would be in the 150# range rigged up. I am with Adam though, it is just a single seater squirt boat. I wonder how it would paddle in the event your squirter quit? I could definately see something like this for HOW, but this is just not for me. I am interested in a jetski like Kiel set up for many reasons including prospecting on some of the rivers. I have an idea of how to turn the jet into a pump to run a sluice in areas where riffles are not paractical.

Per their site - Dry weight 100# plus engine, fuel tank, and seat is the basic unit.  Apparently, the unit has to be towed behind a vehicle.  Looks like they are targeting catch and release fly-fishermen in general.

One of my socal buddies has Mokai. He bought it used for like 1500 I think. I'll try to find the videos he sent. The thing flies! But I'd just buy a jetski. Or a boat.
