Wondering what most folks do when they need to move their kayak across a beach/sand. I'd love to just buy a beach cart, but they're damn expensive — are there any cheaper alternatives? I don't really want to drag my yak across 150+ yards of sand...

Thanks.

You could always ask a beach goer for help...
jk.  Wheeleze are expensive but the only good option and well worth the $$$

Wheeleez or brute force (drag). Honestly wheeleez are one of the few must have/must pay expenses for this sport if you play in the sand or other similar surfaces.

Yep. There just aren't many alternatives other than sledding the yaks across the sand.
I consider the balloon tire cart as critical as my paddle these days.

I only use my wheeleez on hard surfaces, (roads, parking lots, etc).  It's not bad dragging in the sand.

Ugh, sounds like I will need to bite the bullet. Will the Wheeleez mini do the trick, I found one for $119.

Thanks.

Get the ones with the big wheels.  "Go big or go home!"

+1 on the big wheels.  I have seen quite a few people regret getting the small wheels.  If you're going to do it once, do it right and get the big wheels.

Carried mine over my head for years before buyin the wheeleez. I also carried it on my shoulder and dragged it across the sand. So it's not absolutely necessary. In fact, due to price I'd only recommend the big wheeleez if you are going to launch of sandy beaches often. Because for roads/parking lots, and set of wheels will work.

Keep an eye on the NCKA classifieds or put a WTB in our classifieds.  I picked up a small Wheeleez for $50 there. The small one isn't that bad, just watch how you tie it down. The straps tend to slip and bind up the wheels. The small ones also fits inside my hatch. no extra tip back to the car or hoping a beach lockup will deter thieves.
