Has anyone fished in the main lake or the fore bay recently?

I heard its been redhot for schoolies in the forebay. The res is really low due to work on the dam, but heard they're still catching em near the racks. Now w/b a good time to hit it, pending the wind forecast.

I'm going to the main lake tomorrow (Sat) on my buddies Boston Whaler.  We're planning on launching at Dinosaur Point and drifting Jumbo Minnows and throwing lures.  We'll keep in on 69 if anyone needs help.  I'll post how we do later.

Picked up a dozen Jumbo Minnows and a dozen large at Coyote Bait and Tackle, then we proceeded to San Luis Res.   We had to go through the mussel inspection for my buddy's PB.  There is no "extra fee" for the inspection, but it still cost $16 to launch.  We launched at Dinosaur Point and proceded trolling out of the cove.  Once in the main lake we metered a school of stripers and dropped a couple of Jumbos down and we had a double on.  My buddy was determined to get this on video and his came off after leaving it in the rod holder.  I landed mine and it was an 18" keeper but I let it go.  We kept making passes and got a lot of action.  My buddy ended up with a limit of 20 inchers and I released another 18 incher and some smaller ones.  The bite ended there about 10ish and we took a ride to the trash racks where we saw only one striper caught.  There was a lot of plankton over there and the depth was over 100 feet.  I didn't want to fish there in case I caught an undersized fish, because their swim bladders expand and they can't swim back down without surgical help.
Went back to our previous spot but they had moved away.  We left at 1:00.  The weather was nice and the wind  stayed calm all morning.  The trip across the lake was flat.  I wish I had brought my kayak instead because I can see my fishfinder and position over the fish easier.  Maybe next time.

I use a Carolina rig with a 1/2 oz egg sinker.  You may need more weight depending on the wind drift.
