Free coast gaurd program that makes sense and I will do.

If not we may be forced to do it by yet another law or mandate. Check it out. I think it is a great Idea and could save your life in a bad situation.

Great idea! Unfortunately, I could not find Paddle Smart on the Coast Guard website.

When I fished the ORC in Oregon earlier this year, the Coast Guard Auxiliary was inspecting all yaks and handing out inspection stickers and the "if found" stickers.  I would think they would do the same at one of our events if invited to do so. 

Very cool!  Would be great for the tournaments for sure!

I have Coast Guard customers coming into my cleaners all the time. I'll ask them for the stickers and bring them to one of the next outtings.

*it's also a good idea if you have any existing medical conditions or medication info on your E-Card.

For example:

Name:John Doe
emergency contact: Jane Doe (xxx) xxx.xxxx
medication: coumadin
medical condition: xxxxxxx
allergic to: xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I used vinyl letters o n the inside with " if found contact.. And put in spouse info" makes me feel like, if you can read this the bitch fell off!

I've had those stickers and put them underneath my bow hatch.  I got them from a kayak instructor doing lessons at Quarry Lakes over 2 years ago.  They are very durable.  The sharpie ink fades and you need to re-write your info after about a year.

I have a laminated card with all my personal info (and contact info) in one of my drybags that is clipped into the boat.

I have info in my yak too. I think the Idea here is to have it where people can see it immediately without popping the hatch ect , searching for the info. First responder easy info....
