Normal morning routine, getting ready for work. For some reason I turned on the tv, something I never do and the news was on. First tower already hit and was listening to news people when the second one went in. Seriously could not comprehend what I saw. Tragic day for sure.

I woke up and got an eyefull on tv.

I didn't know other folks cared or worried about being called "infidels" until that day.
We don't worship like them so we should be enslaved, taxed or killed according to the Koran?
Read it.  Not alot of forgiveness in Sharia law.
F them.
Forever.

ps.  Look up women's voting rights, Jewish friendships, and charitable non donations with these soggy bottom boys from 11 B.C.
Women have problems but OMG, putting them in Burkas, and hitting them with sticks and rocks..... Just read their book.

I was living in Nicaragua at the time...

Woke up in this girls house and went next door to her neighbors to buy some beer and eggs...they had the TV on and they told me something bad was happening in my country and I looked up and saw the footage.....

Next few months are a blur...wanted to go home and help....wanted to kill anybody who was involved or sympathized....wanted to get drunk and high to block it out...wanted to cry....got in many bar fights related to what happened and people talking about it...some guys deserved me hitting them, and some probably didn't...but they said the wrong thing at the wrong time when I was angry like a rabid pitbull....misplaced aggression...

I will never forget, and will never forgive.

Sincerely,

Jim

A day I won't forget! I was on duty at my fire station pouring my first cup of coffee watching the morning news.  Then the report came in that a plane had just struck one of the towers. I watched in disbelief as the second plane went into the second tower. All I could think of was the number of people hurt and those towers are going to fall with that much damage. Then I realize that firefighters and other first responders where headed into those towers to save those that they could. I never got a second cup of coffee, just could not stop watching such a horrific event.

I had signed up for the Army on Aug 29th 2001. So I was awaked by many phone calls telling me to turn on the TV and prepare! I could not believe what I was seeing. When I watched the day unfold I wanted to leave right then to get some kind of revenge! I eventually got my turn in the fight in 2005. I became a fireman in 2003 and I will never forget what my 343 brothers did that day! God Bless America and Shoot to kill!

I was on Oahu ready to go surfing. Went to the beach and it was empty with a very eery feeling. Everyone  was trying to make arrangements to get back to the mainland.

I was about ready to get off my shift at Al Jabar Air Base In Kuwait. We were deployed to do rescue missions incase some one got shot down in Iraq. Typical briefing to be given to the next shift but they never showed up. My phone to the command  post rang (never does) and all I got was a huge change in "defense condition." Had to starts "protecting" my assets and get the troops prepped. Turned on the TV and saw plane number 2 hit the second tower and knew exactly who did it.  Had to spend the next 8 hours continuing my already long 12 hours since my replacements got locked on base till some one figured out if an attack was coming. Finally made it back to my room for a quick nap then back at it a few hours later back at hashing out plans to up the manning on our section.

It was a long day as well as a long week. 16-18 hours day for 10 days and isolated. I for one will never forget those who gave their lives for freedom. God bless them and God bless the USA

And now, the day after, I still feel numb and still can't accept that they did that as a religious jihad attack. As has been said before. read the Coran and know the enemy... They are still there... Shirea law must never be allowed in this country. Those that want to force it on us will fail :smt067
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Wife and I were both at home getting ready for work.  Very sad day.   Hard to believe what was unfolding.  For a few weeks after the attack, all air traffic was suspended.  This made it impossible to spray our vegetable fields with helicopters.  Farmers and crop consultants like myself were very worried about our crops.

Wife flew for work on 9/11/02 and the airport was dead.

I showed up to work and thought cool the night crew manager is still here, He always has a great joke to start the day off right. When I walked in and saw him on his phone and looking ashen gray I knew something was wrong. He told me he was on the phone with his daughter who was FBI and about the first tower. Then he hung up and looked at me and  said we are under attack. HE left to get his kid and wife and I called my EX. Told her to keep the boys home from school. Spent the rest of the day receiving trucks and trying to keep the kid I was working with under control and finish the days job. Bad thing was the Drivers a couple of days later that were Arabic. I was the only one that would deal with them and was fine, until he picked up his phone and started talking to someone in Arabic. Not a good feeling and I hope I never have it again. I still can't go near any of the memorials without starting to tear up. :smt089 Every generation has had something like this and I worry about what our children's will be.  :smt012

I was young SGT, getting cleaned up after the morning PT session.  Had my own room in the barracks at that time, and my future ex wife was sleeping in my bunk, about a month pregnant with our first child.  Things were pretty crazy for the next few years.

I was at MCRD San Diego as a recruit in the Marines. The platoon was being fitting for uniforms and the tailor had his radio on. Listened to it as it happened with 40 very stunned individuals that weren't quite sure what happened and what it meant. After 9/11 the training became a lot more serious to everyone involved and our DIs took full advantage by not all allowing us to read the paper or really find out what happened until sunday when we could buy our own. :smt044 Exited boot camp to a different public mentality and perception of patriotism that was inspiring to say the least. I felt fortunate that I picked infantry because I wanted to get some like many did at the time.  :smt013
