Hobie is going to have to look into manufacturing those things in China.  Just too costly to do business in California it seems.  They could kill the market in volume if they would lower their prices.

For me kayak prices have gone up on a few lines. Mostly due to increased cost in shipping.

Yeah just start making them there.
We can afford to lose more jobs here.
Put someone here outa work so we can save a couple hundo on an upgraded kayak from the one we currently have.

Hmmmm.

I too am not happy that Hobie is raising it's prices again, but like Paddleboy said shipping costs may be partially to blame.  I'm proud to say that Hobie still builds all of their kayaks here in California , USA!!!!

Considering the price of fuel, groceries and everything else we buy, the Hobie price hike seems reasonable in today's economy.  I will always be willing to pay a little more for a quality, made in America product.

i know theres not to many pa(pro angler)fans here, seeing how this is turning into a ai club  :smt005 jk, but the 14 is gonna be 2999.00 the 12 2899.00 so compare it to the ai hike its not as bad.but as mr.matt said id pay the price hike to keepem manufactured here so some guy doesnt have to go home and tell his family he got laid off cause the factory is going to china.no offense just my two pennys
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it
