Just a way to get the would be thief to work a little harder when trying steal your kayak off your roof rack...

* we were at Stillwater South a while back when someone tried to steal Daniels / dpshim extra kayak that was on his mini van...we returned and saw that both tie downs/ straps were completely undone. We believe that the culprit(s) failed to notice that the kayak was locked with a cable on the other side of the van.

They could just cut it, but it would be a lot harder to unstrap the yaks otherwise. I use a bike lock on mine because it was cheaper than the kayak-specific locks.
Shamefully...Dan's spare yak was on top of his van in case I could join everybody OTW after work. So i would've been my fault if they stole it!
