Top2Bottom Fundraising Tourney: 09/09/12

Team PayItForward is pleased to present the First Annual Top2Bottom (T2B) Fundraising Tourney!!

The primary goal of this event is to raise $$ to fund the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's research for a Cure for Cancer.

So here is the deal....

Gonna have a throw down between the hook and line yak fishing guys and the spearos. Rod n Reel versus Cold Hard Steel. Hookers versus Shafts. Floaters versus Sinkers. 

Top2Bottom will be held on Sunday September 9th

$25 donation to participate.

All proceeds from T2B go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

If $$ raised exceeds Team Pay it Forward’s goal any extra cash will be given straight to Joel “Mooch” Lotilla.

If can't pay online or via mailed check you should PM me and make other payment arrangements.

Can fish or dive anywhere in Monterey County or Santa Cruz Counties. Do NOT have to check in beforehand. Honor system applies. If we find out you cheated and caught fish the day before or outside of Monterey/Santa Cruz you will be ridiculed and disqualified.

No powerboats, no SCUBA, no jet skis, no fishing from shore. Kayaks with or without sails allowed. Divers can dive off a kayak or swim out from shore. Can change fishing locations/launches as many times as you want. All DFG rules followed 100%.

Points per inch as follows:

Rockfish: 8
Cabezon: 8
Lingcod: 5
Halibut: 5
White SeaBass: 4

No other species count. No greenling or perch or calico bass or sheephead or opaleye or monkeyface or flounder or salmon etc.

All fish that will be entered in the tourney must be brought in for measuring. No CPR entries allowed.

Fish lengths will be rounded down to nearest 1/4 inch. For example a Ling that is between 30.25 and 30.5 inches long will count as a 30.25 inch ling.

Your biggest entry of each species will count towards your total points.

Angler/Diver with most points wins bragging rights of being the T2B1 champion and a brand new in box GoPro (courtesy of Morgan Consulting LLC).

Check in is from 1-3:00PM at beach in front of Monterey Bay Kayaks.

Anyone not at the check in station by 3:00PM will be disqualified. Potluck and chill at beach during and after check-in.

This fundraiser is sponsored by Pacific Nalu Dive Company. They will have Kayak Safety Flags and BoogieBoard Dive flagmounts for sale at the event.

$10 Tickets will also be sold at the event for a raffle for a 32 GB WiFi iPad.

Damn, this is one I would really like to get to.  Same weekend as my bridgeport trip.  This is for a great cause, my father-in-law passed of leukemia earlier this year.  Good luck with the fundraising.
