Nooooooo....Scott how could the camera have died! Awesome. OK second wave (chuck, lino, Rey, don, Steve and others) lets hire Scott to be our outfitter. Tour guide and catering! Even my wife said....."if they go again you HAVE to do that"

Does that mean I won't spend any WAF When I go?

Ray was correct about reefing the sail to mitigate weather helm, the boat turning into the wind when beating to windward. I never experienced weather helm on catamarans because I never let the boat heel that much. Haka benches and a tiller extension would have helped also. I had my food and beverages stored in the front hatch so was more nose heavy than usual which probably didnt help.

Here is a nice explanation of weather helm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_helm

I was thinking about 4 fish and sail events next year.

Berryessa - March or April - trout, salmon kokanee
Alcatraz - May or June - halibut, stripers
Golden Gate - August or September - salmon, halibut rockfish
Bodega Bay - November - crab, rockfish

What do guys think?

I was also thinking Lake Tahoe would be fun but I dont know anything about sailing or fishing on LT.

New Melones would be fun what month would you think? November - December turnover? San Luis res can get really bad really fast and not very scenic. :smt011

I tried to post more pictures but the website won't allow me! I'll try it later.  In the mean time here is a short video clip of my first AI sailing experience!

I have been out under the GGB several times before but not in the AI.  We made several tacks and then we set a tack for the most Northwest corner of San Francisco.  I  figured we
could always stop in for brunch at the Cliff House if nothing else.  However  the wind got
stronger and waves got bigger and several times there was water over my bow where I
couldn't see it, and I couldn't see my legs.  In the back of my mind I heard Clark Gable saying, DIVE, DIVE, DIVE.  I changed tacks and head for Marin Headlands and safer
grounds.

We all finally gathered at Bonita Cove and tried fishing without success.  Even the large PBs were seeking shelter in the Cove.
