Lunch was great.  Thanks to Scott, I ate WSB without having to catch it.  Yum.
Kirby Cove is a safe place to land and has a great view of SF.
We headed back and Sonny, Ken and Mark in their tandem and I stopped to
fish just inside the north tower.  The bite was on and we scored limits of
copper cod.

Thank to Scott for putting this together.

Ray

You mean right inside the North Tower? I marked those fish on the way in but they were deep (170' down) and I was too lazy to drop on them to find out what they were. There were 3 PB's working them. WTG and good to know they weren't salmon.  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 Good sailing with you. There will be many more great adventures.

I'd truly like to thank Scott for pulling this incredible trip together and to everyone making it an awesome time.
Mark and I had a blast.  It has been both of our dreams to sail around the Golden gate with the Ai.  Thank you so much for making it possible. On our way in we fished with Ray and Sonny just inside the north tower.  There was a huge shrimp bait ball breaking surface and a huge school of big coppers/browns under them, we scored big time!!! :smt003
The food was divine, as usual.

I sometimes get the same message when I upload pics.  I think the problem may have to do with the file format or size.  Our forum administrator is Allen "polepole" and I'll forward this message to him so he can shed some light on the subject.

I re-sized all the pictures so they're under 1mb each before upload them here.  I've tried uploading 4 at a time but still got same error.  The first 8 pictures in my earlier post were uploaded without issue!

Here is the GPS track. The wind was 10-15kt from the west and the starboard tack was the preferred tack to get to Point Bonita. The left side of the course was favored because it had cleaner air. After crossing under the bridge and getting a feel for the wind, I tacked to port tack to get out of shipping channel and set up a long starboard tack. Unfortunately as Ray mentioned, it got more gnarly the longer we stayed on that tack and eventually we sailed to Bonita cove for some fishing and calmer conditions. I can't say enough on how seaworthy the AI's are. I took a 4-5' steep breaking swell broadside on the reach to the cove which would have flipped any kayak. The cockpit flooded but stayed upright.

Damn Scott! All that sailin' jargen you almost sound like a sailor!... :smt044 I know you used to sail compitions. Before you know it your gonna have us talkin" like that  :smt005 Hey Scott, there is a great place your forgeting. Tomales has great sailing wind usually every afternoon, easy launch and hali fishing. It also has some great lunch spot beaches on the Point Reyes side. I was thinking it would be great to get one in there before the hali season is over. We could try bounce balling for the halis.

are the campsites (OTW/shore) that we can use? It would e cool to have an overnight event there. kinda like the Florida AI peeps do...minus the bugs and 80 degree temps

I usually re-size my pictures using Paint and never got this error message in the past.  Why the pictures in my earlier post uploaded OK but the next ones are not?  :smt009
