While prepping the RV for the Albion trip, I noticed that the plug was not connected to the outlet  :smt011. And I shut the propane tank off to minimize leakage...

Knowing what I left in the freezer from the GS6 trip (frozen squid and chovies), I slowly opened the door.... :smt087 in that brief second, I was greeted to an aroma that made me almost puke!

The bait has been sitting in 80+ degree temperature for I don't know how long, that a small puddle of ooze had formed on the bottom. 2 frozen packs of man dogs were reduced down to vienna sausages...

I managed to clean the refridgerator and freezer, but that lovely aroma still lingers; shoved a box of baking soda in there, but not sure that it will help before my guests arrive on Friday evening... :smt007

And, the wifey will probably no longer allow me to keep bait in the freezer :smt011.

Mental note: REMOVE EVERYTHING from the refriderator and freezer after EVERY trip! (or at least get the wife too  :smt003)

Thanks for the warning Glen.  Will wear proper protection gears when opening the freezer in your RV  :smt005

Similar event when I worked retail in Florida.  Hurricane came, lost power, bait freezer left for nearly 2 weeks w/o power in 100+ temp = tape the freezer shut and haul the entire thing to the dump!!!!  I could only imagine the smell that would have come out!

I knew where this was going as soon as I saw the title. I never turn off the propane when I have food in the fridge, just in case. Hope it works out for you.
