I did a little shark+ray fishing this last weekend in northern Humboldt Bay with some friends, and I figured some NCKAers would get a kick outta this photo.  My lady is gently lobbing this little bat ray back, and I caught the perfect moment for a photo.

I don't advocate the tossing of animals in general, but this girl was small and honestly, it was a light tossing.  I think this could catch on quickly with the disc golf crowd  :smt044.

HI Yakers:

It's not the flight but, the landing that will put them into shock. Try a belly flop next time you're in the Pool. Hitting water is  like hitting
a brick wall! Be kind and handle with care when you catch and release. :smt002

Cool pic and funny.  Rays are tough.  I don't think you need to worry about it.  I'm curious, what else did you catch up there in the Bay?

I'll give her high marks for distance and form.  Notice how the arm is nicely extended in the ideal ray toss stance.  Bonus points for capturing the ray mid flight with the photograhy.  Gold!

I think it's flying out of the water looking for Glen.

This photo is worthy of a caption contest.

For disc golf though, you'd need different types of rays depending on the shot/distance/angle. So, like an electric torpedo ray for putting...batray for midrange...thornback for a driver....
