My Son lost his wife to the divorce monster :smt011 ... She couldn't live like a poor student anymore (1yr 3mo's) In that time my son (a poor student) Got her a 2010 Acura TL, $10.000 wedding ring, All the clothes she could buy... But At 24 yrs old, his career didn't happen fast enough. He ran out of money and now she is gone :smt013  Closed off all new credit issuance in his name this morning as soon as the credit agency's opened on the east coast... Some sick people out there. Worst weekend of our lives to date. Disbelief and sadness is the legacy she left. Her parents supported her in all this... Be careful out there. But don't pass on the opportunity to love. Life is a adventure. Some parts of it will suck but that's when you fall back on friends and things you love to do :fishing2 We will help him threw this and we will heal... Then we will go fishing!!!!!

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

That's rough, but on the flip side it's better to have it happen now rather than X number of years (and children?) down the road.

I am so lucky my g/f is not hung up on money.  If you tell a woman you're broke and she still hangs around it must be true love.

sorry to hear this  :smt011 Growing up the youngest in my family, I've seen and learned from the failed marriages within my family, relatives and friends.  :smt011

My first wife years ago ,1970's, left me for the same reason. She couldn't or wouldn't live on a Deputy Sheriff's salary. I saw her a few years ago and she is married to one of the highest paid lawyers in the state of California. The one thing that struck me was that she confessed that the Happiest she had ever been in her life was with me. Go F-ing figure.
Happiness isn't money but what life's adversities have to offer and making it through. Coming out of adversities has always built a better foundation for living and then a happier life with the knowledge that I am still here and living a "Very Good Life".
This weekend I spent with the"Mooch". I am always amazed at how this guy lives with his illness. I will always be grateful for friends and family like Joel because of the rich life he lives. Sometime and not all those with a higher earning average, forget about the fact that we are here to enjoy life rather then seek out a Higher Power like your Ex Daughter-in-Law.
I am a firm believer that some times, Youth is wasted on the Young. Just my two cents. Frank

Sorry to hear about your Son's divorce.   Sounds  eerily like my Son's divorce last year.  The pain and anger seems to linger but like you said " But don't pass on the opportunity to love. Life is a adventure. Some parts of it will suck but that's when you fall back on friends and things you love to do  We will help him threw this and we will heal... Then we will go fishing!!!!! "   Good Luck to Your Son and Family

What an absolutely horrid post.
I have relatives and friends who make beau coup bank and drop all they coin trying to bling they ladies out - it rarely works long term, but they have fun (and heartache) while trying.

gotta hold off on that marriage thing until you get your scrilla, b/c then you can afford a whole different quality of mate.  Plus with money your tastes change.  sucks but true. I ain't sayin she a gold digga, but she ain't messin wit no broke brothas

And the major upside here is that if your son is suffering financial hardship, it will be a simple split because equitable division of assets will not be complicated.  blessing in disguise/silver lining/ whatever.  Sux that it happened, but completely better that it happened now.  Much harder to recover financially down the road when the split would have really cost him big time

Like the others said, better now than later when homes, kids etc are involved.

Been married for 24 years and the only two faults I have found in my wife Robin is that she doesnt fish and she doesnt clean fish  :smt003

Well, she may, but only for about the duration of three fourths of a song.  Then you have to feed the meter again sux
