Indeed.  I was not married but my daughter's mom pretty much split along similar terms (only in much more dramatic fashion).  Since we have a daughter together she has the green light to cause havoc in my life until I die. 

If he ever wants to feel better about his situation, tell him to drop me a line and I'll tell him what I deal with....he will think his ex problems realy aren't that bad

Sorry to hear that, some people just suck! 
But, you are an awesome dad and together with you and Family, he will be better in the long run.

Thanks for the rant replies. I think he's handling this better than I am.... He and My wife went and got all his stuff today... Some closure... Some raw wounds ... She took all the pictures down already Going to buy him a fishing license on the way home... Deep sea trip this Saturday possible. Know of a Good capt/Boat out of bay area?

My first wife years ago ,1970's, left me for the same reason. She couldn't or wouldn't live on a Deputy Sheriff's salary. I saw her a few years ago and she is married to one of the highest paid lawyers in the state of California. The one thing that struck me was that she confessed that the Happiest she had ever been in her life was with me. Go F-ing figure.
Happiness isn't money but what life's adversities have to offer and making it through. Coming out of adversities has always built a better foundation for living and then a happier life with the knowledge that I am still here and living a "Very Good Life".
This weekend I spent with the"Mooch". I am always amazed at how this guy lives with his illness. I will always be grateful for friends and family like Joel because of the rich life he lives. Sometime and not all those with a higher earning average, forget about the fact that we are here to enjoy life rather then seek out a Higher Power like your Ex Daughter-in-Law.
I am a firm believer that some times, Youth is wasted on the Young. Just my two cents. Frank

Shes not good enough for your son.

Thank God for him there are no children involved. You would have to add a couple hundred thousand to what he lost already. Something tells me he will love again and I hope it will be better. It was for me.
