Found a lot of nice spots on the water, my memory often fails me.  Want to be able to mark them on a gps.  Daunting how many hand held models to chose from,
What's a good one that is accurate to mark way points?
much appreciated.

You may like the Garmin GPS, "Oregon 550". It's a waterproof camera that stores the location, of any picture you take. You can always navigate back to the exact spot, where a picture was taken. You can also, input a name to a picture, to create an easy to identify waypoint. Won't be OTW without mine.

i also have an oregon garmin, doesnt have the camera like daves, but it is loaded with marine maps for the US stock, it also will show you the currents and tide tables for a specific spot, which is very useful for sturgeon fishing :smt003, contours etc, also can load in other maps, roads/lakes, but they are on the pricey side, cameron

I'm looking at the Oregon online there is the ,Oregon 550 , Oregon 550T. What's the difference? they say that it's for hiking, will it work just as well on the ocean?
Where is a good place to buy this?
I like the camera to find locations.
Dave, which model do you have, the 550 or 550T?

Garmin Rino 120, older one, but has two way radio and the super feature I like is I can track other rino users without talking to them.

You should hold on to that bro.  It's not just about finding your way home, but being able to mark certain reefs or areas where you catch big fish.  The ocean is tough to get landmarks and drop he same hot spot everytime.  With the gps, you can go "there" everytime!

Oregon 550. It's spendy, but it does have all the features I want in a GPS.

I have had the Lowrance iFinder H20 for 5yrs. It died a year & half ago...probably because I abuse the heck out of it. But I went to remove the Navionics SD card from it last month (to give the card to Dan)...and I was able to get it working again LOL! [by cleaning all the terminals w/this kit that's made for cleaning a Nintendo 64 hahaha] So now it works again!

I've had a garmin GPSmap 60 for a long time, since Afghanistan in 2003.  I've beat it up quite a bit, and it still works great, although you can tell it's nearly 10 years old with the buttons starting to peel off.  Garmin makes great handhelds.

your probably right.it was just a thought since there was someone looking for one.and I'm not gonna be using it that much.that's why I didn't post it on the classified.now if you point me to some hot spots that I can mark :smt044
