Well it didn't take long to get some press.
http://capitola.patch.com/articles/shark-bites-kayak-at-pleasure-point

From the article ...

Quote
Shark sightings are not unheard-of in the Monterey Bay, but according to Keane, an encounter so close to the shore is highly rare if not unprecedented. The water is only 40-feet deep where the incident occurred. Sightings usually occur at least a mile from the beach, Keane said.

I think this guy is spreading mis-information.   :smt011

I am doing well guys and thanks for your concern.  I will post my story in a bit.  Don't go out alone and always carry your safety gear.

Some details in article like the distance offshore the were off. Probably due to the multiple retellings. The police officer quoted -does have some background with shark sighting off that area, as an avid local surfer, and he was with the Santa Cruz Harbor Master before joining the Cap PD

It was the big lead story on channel 7. On channel 11 they had pictures of the boat on the wharf with me bending over it and Chad in the foreground. No Mel  :smt005. I'm expecting a call from my parents any minute
