Shark attack in Capitola

I have never heard of an attack on a kayak that was fishing within spitting distance of another kayak. Stay close to your bros. Best wishes to you Mel on your path to emotional recovery and conradulations on being alive.

I was in that exact spot on Monday fishing -- a few rockfish but what struck me was how many dolphin (I probably saw 20-25), sea lions, seals, and otters I saw.  I guess the landlord is drawn to bait balls, just like other big fish.

I need to get a giant rotomolded swimbait, apparently.

I saw a TV show where the scientist were trolling a seal shaped lure at the farralons.

Glad you are ok Mel. I am waiting for the day that I pull up a hitch hiker great white on a ling! I think a bang stick is a good idea in that area.

Glad Mel is OK...i knew i was being watched last time I was at Cap.. I was 20 yds behind Moody on my dune colored Revo, does anyone know what color Mel's is?

Scary stuff.  I was just fishing that same area last week.  Glad Mel is ok.  I'm going to star using the buddy system a lot more.

Mel, I'm soooo glad and thankful that you're ok brother! I have to agree with Scott, yesterday I felt lil eerie out there for a moment myself.
