If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much space!

I bought my kayak 4 years ago... got all the stuff I needed for the ocean a few months after that... it has yet to see salt water.  LOL... Lack of time is a big factor in that, but the landlord is more than a bit of a concern I must admit.

You have better odds getting hit by lightening than being attacked by a GWS.

Yeah... and the last time I was backpacking in the Trinity Alps and got caught out in a lightning storm, I was scared... shitless.  Odds of occurrence are low of course... Odds of survival in case of occurrence, also low.  Don't get me wrong, I plan on ocean fishing sooner or later, as I plan on doing a lot more backpacking... but it is not a completely unreasonable thing to be fearful of.

I'll just buy a shark shield before I go out there  :smt003. Btw I caught a fish yesterday that had Larval Roundworms  :smt012. Should I be worried? I baked the fish for 20 min on 400 F. I'm kinda freaking out, let me know.

Dude wicked video. The force that the GW is exerting on that boat is nuts. I was kinda hoping one of the guys would test the sharpness of the teeth.

Also you haven't lived until you have fished RF at night. Something about the black water and occasional bioluminesce really spooks me.

Dude you have the aids watch out! :smt044 Joking aside if it's a saltwater fish you were probably looking at Anisakis/seal worms. Unless you eat them uncooked and unfrozen they will not infect you and typically an infection is not life threatening.

I drive to work everyday and yet I am always hearing on the news about a fatal car accident.
I don't wear mosquito repellant everyday even though mosquitos have caused more deaths throughout history than all the wars combined.
I don't like the landlord because of what it can potentially do, but I am not going to let that stop me from going out into the ocean.
It's all about the odds for me.
