I took a real close look at it,,,  all is well...

really put a pang in my stomach when I saw the lights he had rigged on it...

 he got the idea from " Lurking... " on the site...

I asked him several times to get more involved with ncka, but he was just a quite type who liked to go out by himself and fish from a kayak...

Met his family the other day... everyone is set up with with Hobies..

so sad, I really hope they find him soon...

Everyone needs to get moving on...

  the specialist is coming tomorrow...

As you may have heard, the search for Bill has ended.

Around 2pm this afternoon, Gene Ralston (an underwater search expert from Idaho who refused to charge us) found Bill. He was down at 105 feet. At approximately 5pm, Bill was brought to shore. Bill's crew, Engine 6C, retrieved the body, draped it in an American flag, and placed Bill in the coroner's van.

We will be cancelling all future search efforts.

Thanks for all your well wishes everyone...

It always breaks my heart to lose a brother fireman, no matter the cause. Don, Let us know about funeral etc...If it is a SFD sanctioned function I will try to come and pay my respects.

Ditto.  We're all very sad.

Bummer to hear.  I was kind of hoping that he had just decided to disconnect and take off.  Living up in Alaska or somewhere.   At least there is closure for the family.  RIP.

Could have been any one of us.  Sorry for the loss....
