I was talking to the Hobie rep at Paddlefest about it.  He didn't have one yet for himself for demos.  He said its not yet available but has taken 250 pre orders from numerous dealers.
All that excitement from just watching the youtube videos.

Hopefully it's not too much more $$$ than an outback...but even so, the equipped seating, the ability to stand with ease would add a considerable amount of fishing time to my day...my old outback was great for covering long distances but the seating position (even with the i-comfort) killed my back after an hour or so...

Plus having the ability to stand comfortably makes takin' a leak so much easier...providing it's not windy  :smt003

List price looks like $2549.00. It's a hell of a kayak though. That new seat looks awesome.

The kayak is amazing! I used it at Mission beach during the official dealer release during the dealer conference. They only allowed dealers to order two per store during the release for the first shipment. I have six coming to me! The bad news is they have backed up the ship date twice now and it looks like summer before anyone will have them.:smt012

$2600.00 for a 12 foot plastic peddle boat with a lawn chair on top?   That's insane money for what you get.  :smt011
For me Hobie has way too high an opinion of itself and I think that shows in their pricing.
To each his own though.

Yup, to each their own.  That's a LOTTA money for a plastic tub with a lawn chair as CrawFish pointed out.  For the money, the fact you pretty much gotta trailer those beasts and the weight, I'd just buy a little skiff and slap a motor on it (that could go in reverse too!).  You love what you love though,...I'd rather have a Jackson Cuda or Coosa, and those come with lawn chairs too.

Say what you want about Hobie and their pricing, truth is they sell everything they make,  their resell value is outstanding, and all of the new Pro Anglers are pre-sold.

The 12 footer advertises it can stow two rods horizontally and four vertically. the 14 foot says four rods horizontally. If you tend to take too many rods with you, like me, that could be important

My PA14 has 6 tubes and I not only use them all, I double up on the ultra lite rods; 2 to a tube. They all fit fine for travel, once I'm where I'm at, I use a 4 hole vertical rod holder off my milk crate or just leave them lay across the front hatch.  I'm ready no matter what fish I spot; dropshot worm, a frog, spinner bait, trolling rigs, etc.  I don't have to spend time rigging and re-rigging.

This PA14  sure is a tank to handle out of the water though.....
maybe the PA12 will be a bit easier.

I don't take as many rods as you do but I do fill each hole so I don't have to do any rigging while on the water, I just grab another rigged rod and keep on fishing.
I have read that the PA 12 is 17 or 33 pounds lighter than the PA 14 depending on what source you read.

Sure looks nice and it would at the top of my list if I were in the market for one. At 12', I would just transport it in the element or cartop it.
