Day use is $6 and overnight camping is $10.  My understanding is that if you plan to stay over night...just pay the $10.  Only problem is that you are suppose to leave at 11am the next day for overnight camping.  Day use is from sunrise to 10pm.  I do not think the overnight thing is in force that well.  I think you could fish until sunset.  Boats can be on the water at sunrise (around 6:30am) and off by sunset (around 6pm).

MoBass,

We meet at the closed boat ramp on the "Mederios (spelling?) Area.  It off of Hwy 152.  Take Hwy 33 and go left on 33.  A quick left about a 1/4 mile down.  Pay at the booth (self serve) and go down until the fork in the road.  Take it right and then a quick left.

I thought about it, but the forebay just isn't getting my blood pumping.  Going to spend some quality time with a M1 garand instead.   :smt070

I be on the water around 6:30am (sunrise) and if I limit early will head to Los Banos Creek Res. for Large mouth and trout. I think they have bluegill but do not know about cats or crappie.  Plan to sleep over in my truck....but, will not cook.

Sunday Joseph will be showing up.

Hey Josh - was the Garand a standard Issue in WWII ? Pretty heavy rifle isn't it?

You'll see alot of them if you watch 'band of brothers'.  Mine were made post-war though.  They are heavyish, but the M1 is one of the most accurate military automatics ever produced.  The peep sights on them are very easy to use/adjust and 30-06 is one of the most powerful common military cartridges of the last century.  If the rifle wasn't heavy, the recoil would be prohibitive.

It's drabacks are it's funky en-bloc clip (tho they'd probably be illegal in CA if they took detatchable high-cap mags) and it's safety clicks when you take it off (bad for hunting close range).  But at the tin can range, it causes water-filled soda bottles to explode into a ball of mist 6 feet in diameter.   :smt003

The gods are not in favor of fishing on Sunday, so Fred and I will be bailing out.
Just called the hotline at 1-800-805-4805.  The temps are good, but the wind is right around 30 MPH.  No way can my 3 yr old (or myself) can handle that much.   The trip would be over before it got started.
The only reason I was taking out the tin can was so my daughter could tag along.  You guy's know I prefer plastic over aluminum.

Till another day,
Stuart

Stu-I have been taking the kids out in our yaks since they were tiny and they LOVE it.  One of our faithful customers recently ordered a MK "gator" hatch for his son and I got one at the same time.  This is the coolest yak thing I have seen in a LONG time.  My kids like it so much they fight over who gets to sit in it!  I think its great for folks that don't want to struggle with a tandem just so they can take their kids occasionally.

So much for my guarantee.  I had some unexpected crap come up so I couldn't show.  How was the fishing?  The weather?  The camping?
