Very well said Jim,
I think that is why so many here respect you.
I will continue to support the causes you mention, but in the mean time, the offer of the original suit is still good. My wife says it is taking up too much space in the closet.

I'm sorry guys, I know you're trying to help out our bro, but the man expressed his wishes.  I think you should honor that.

My wish came first, so if you would form a line behind me and let me finish my wish, (which is to help BigJim)  I would be honored... I just want to help my friend, so if you would let me do that peacefully, I would be very grateful.

Hmmm. sitting here thinking about this one... Some times those that provide service to others find it hard to accept the same from others. I first met Jim at still water cove last year. Andy (fish master 1) asked me to bring him some Marabou jigs. when he came to pick them up, he invited us to the cove (I didn't know about SWS) We got there and were warmly welcomed by all. Jim came over and was larger than life and was so great (no, not trying to get a date) :smt044 he seemed to embody the diving spirit. He was just so full of joy showing his fish and bubbling over with excitement, that it was infectious. I have asthma and cannot dive over 10-15 feet. I love to search the shallow zone and always wish I could go deeper. The videos he and others provide satisfy some of that longing. Often we see opportunities so serve others needs. Frivolous or not. It brings us to a higher place and is an event in the life of the giver(s) and the receiver(s). Yes we can and do serve by donating to Joel and PIF and so many other things. But to see video with Jim's smile and fish in that beautiful setting in a SAFE and WARM suit I and others MADE him put on to keep him safe. I can get behind Chaeki and those others and give something back to Jim for all he has done (unknowingly) for me and others. Jim thanks for being you and for doing all you do.  I'll commit $20.00   Hey Chaeki! Can you get it with a NCKA logo on it :smt044

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Feeling overwhelmed, humbled and grateful...

Been talking with my wife and some good friends to help me try and get a handle on how I feel and what is the right thing to do....

While I feel it is important to not give anybody the impression that I "need" "charity", I feel it is also important to accept kindness and gifts from friends....

If I was trying to do something nice for someone I would want them to just shut up, smile and accept whatever it was I was trying to do...

For those that have donated, or want to donate I just want to say how much I appreciate it and how stoked I will be on a new suit if it works out....I can not even imagine how cool it must feel to dive in a real freedive suit.  :smt007

For those that would rather donate to a "real" charity, I support you 100% in that decision as well!

Hope this makes sense...the last thing I would want to have happen would there to be any drama or hurt feelings or BS over the nice gesture that Chaeki is trying to do for me....

Thanks again to ALL of you here on NCKA  for the support, love and friendship that I have been lucky enough to receive through this site.

 :smt008

Ok, let's get back to talking about fish, kayaks, food, friends, and zombies.

 :smt004

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Jim you have been a great inspiration and very deserving of a gift from friends . I only wish I was in position to donate. Know that I'm the future when things even out I will be glad to make a contribution .

Jim, with my weight loss, I may not fit in my wetsuit anymore. I'll try to get out soon and see if still fit me properly. It fit me well when I was between 235 to 245 pounds. If it does not fit me, I would like to pass it forward to you.

By the way, the wetsuit is a Picasso.
