To get you in the mindset... Vision a hot sunny day on a pristine sandy beach, the ocean as clear as the sky, and as flat as a pancake with no waves.  The kayak sitting pretty on the beach, all decked out for a fishing expedition, just waiting to be launched.  Along comes BigJim...  wearing a wetsuit that is 2 sizes too small, knees all chaffed up, and is not even his.

Please help me help him, I would like to reach out to see if I can get some assistance in getting BigJim a freedive suit. He has contributed not only to his family and his friend, but for what he believes in.  I met BigJim in a parking lot at sws, and after he crunched my hand with his iron handshake, I could never forget his name or look. During this time, I have seen BigJim contribute and help many people out there, family and friends.  His dedication to Team in Training (finding a cure for cancer), or whether its helping out with PIF.

Any small donations would help for the cause, we are trying hard to avoid calling him muffin top hobo of the sea.

Donations can be made to me via paypal or PM me for alternate method.  (paypal: [email protected])
Looking into a Mako Suit (affordable or something I can negotiage from freediveshop).  I made random donations to many of the events, and wouldn't feel bad to make another one for a brother from another mother.

Thanks for reading,

Chaeki

Jim is good people,
Unfortunatly I'm a little short on cash, so when I get home I'll check my stash and will have something of great value to donate for a substantual donation :smt003 .
In the mean time, I have a  new scuba suit (used 20 min.) he can have if it fits.
The pics are in the post here

Yakhopper, you always are there for support and we appreciate it!  The scuba suit is a great offering, but I would like to get Jim into a freedive one if possible, since its freediving that he is doing.

Not a problem,
But if anyone needs a suit to get started or for him to use until it comes together, let me know :smt002

Damn Chaeki!

Making me feel all teary eyed and loved and stuff....

Honestly though...as much as I appreciate the effort, and as much as I would LOVE to try diving in a free dive suit.....I am employed, my wife is employed and if I NEEDED a new wetsuit I could buy one....sure we have our share of financial problems, but I think most folks these days do...

PLEASE don't think I am being ungrateful...I am extremely honored and humbled by the gesture, but I want to be clear about the difference between want and need...sure I WANT a new suit, but I CAN get by with the old cheapos or poor fitting ones that I have....

If you only have $20 that you want to give to "charity", PLEASE give it to PIF or straight to Mooch, or to a cause that NEEDS help like Team in Training/Leukemia&Lymphoma Society/Heroes on the Water etc...

Anyway...thanks again to Chaeki and to all for the show of love and support...means more to me than you can imagine,,,but please keep in mind that there are much, much worthier causes to contribute to and I will still love each and every one of you if the "muffin-top hobo freedive suit" does not materialize.

Ok, I need to go to bed now, but I hope my thoughts above make sense.

Damn Chaeki!
blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah...

Sincerely,

Jim

I am not really good with words, but here it goes...

Jim, I understand what you posted, its straight forward.  I donated to PIF, Team in Training, supported other friends of the board, and will continue to support similar events.  But, I also wanted to do something for you.  I hope that most would agree that we want to do this not as charity, but a simple gift of gratitude for what you have done and will continue to do in the future.

Don't think of it as "charity", think of it as... I am investing in you, to train harder for Team in Training, because I sure as hell can't do it.  Would that pass?  Someone help me out here, I suck at this...

Late birthday present, that's it!

How about, we "invest" in Jim with proper diving equipment so he continues to improve his hunting skills and provide us tons of fish porns in return.  :smt003
