Went down to San Pablo just to check in with staff and glad I did...

They had us at the boat launch.... 

were now at the Rec area  and have reserved Gazebo's 1 and 2... nearest electricity for coffee etc... is up by the store on the patio, basically where the second shot is showing both Gazebos, both of these have a double grill area, about a 2'square area

maybe this should be in the lunch thread... now I'm getting confused...

I can bring a 100' heavy cord. Will that be long enough? Also have small noisy generator if we need it.

Talking to LPD this morning I think. I we need them let me know.

It looks like a little over 20 wounded Vets,

I have told the VA that we are looking to take about a dozen on the lake, and others that want to come and shore fish is fine too...

we'll work this out as I do have a few non-ncka volunteers to help....

 If you want to pick up a few kayaks from LPD, I think that would be good...  don't think we need all of them, just would be good to follow up the connection you made and we could use a couple extra...

Mark us down for 1 sit in, 1 sot both with gear paddle + PFD.  I can also bring large cooler to help out.  I also have 2/100 foot cords and a 50.  Let me know if they are needed. I can also bring 2 rods. I will  bring a bunch of fruit, as I know it is nice to have as a snack OTW or after lunch.

On it on Mon. I'll see exacltly what they have.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to scout SPR and haven't fished there in a few years. So I would like some feedback on my game plan.

Launch from the rec area and troll north along the west shore up to the dam then east along the buoy line then concentrate on the east shore from the dam to scow with J7s. If no luck by 10, switch to SR5, JSR 5 and a crawler dodger on the downrigger. If no luck by 11, beach at north scow point or the east dam cove and fish power bait and spoons till noon then head in. Any thoughts? How is the water temp and clarity?

 What I have witness, experienced and from reports...  believe it or not...  casting towards the shore as though your fishing for bass,
               is picking up trout, Big ones too...  I'm not sure why this is...

  but there hanging in the shallows just like a bass would...

I would think plugging the shore line is going to pick up fish.

 Problem....

  that is asking a lot of a newbie to plug the shore line and maybe a heavy toll on prize lures... I feel trolling the shore line by the rec area, across the rec area, especially the east side of the dam shore line... up to cove and across from the cove on the south shore line are going to the most productive areas.

we can use night crawlers, they are selling them at the concession....  power bait and night crawlers have always been the standby and will be working that with the shore anglers...

We need a good idea of how much terminal tackle we need,... I have a ton of swivels for a 1/4 oz slip weights and then will put about a 18" leader for the hook and get it off the bottom...

chartreuse power bait and nightcrawler and inflate the night crawler with a needle... that might be a bit labor intensive, but these are just some of my ideas...
