Also, ALL of the area within that red outline is prime rockfish, lingcod, cabezon and greenling territory.  If it's rough or windy we actually have good potential for most species and good size fish within 1/2 mile of the launch.

You're welcome, Antonio - my pleasure.   :smt001

After looking at it, I've given info based on my salmon obsession and other focus on halibut - these are definitely harder species to catch.

As for rockfish, lingcod, cabezon...  The green area is where to be, and the X is where so many of us were just hammering it at GS3.

Here are the standards I hope to see met by our group if conditions allow:

- several 20 pound lingcod;
- several 8 to 10 pound cabezon;
- several 22 to 24 inch rockfish;
- greenling to 17.5";
- more salmon than we've ever caught at a GS event;
- multiple Pacific Halibut caught in one day.

If I have missed someone that is REGISTERED and PMed me,
you want to start a new team,
I put someone on wrong team,
or your on a team and can't make it,
 PM me. :smt002

I will be at Erics' safety/intro meeting at the launch

     or was a no show.
3. Late scores will not be accepted.
    Once The main board closes it's done.

Finally,
 Some of you know I'm not the "competitive type" when it comes to fishing.
I started the Team Tourney component of Gimme Shelter last year (Thanks Eric!)
as a way for me to personally give back to the community (NCKA) and tournament (Gimme Shelter)
that has been so influencial in my life over the past 5 years.
It's my hope that we can "compete" in the true spirit of sportsmanship,
to congratulate and celebrate the victorious and come to the realization
that we are all winners when we are on the water together persuing our passion! :smt003 :smt004

Yes, it's about what you have rigged up at the time you're targeting salmon or when you have them on board.

Eric,

Great map info. I took your map and did a overlay in Google Earth. Fellow yakers will be able to get GPS numbers, depths and distances to and from where ever they would like on the map, including to your marked areas. I also mapped out paths to all your marked areas from the launch.
Google Earth is an awesome program, I'll use it after a fishing trip in combo with my Handheld GPS #'s to mark where I caught fish, placed my traps, etc. Based on my logged GPS intel, I'll try to find similar productive areas based on my trip waypoints for my next outing on the water. I'll keep track of all my data and eventually have a spot figured out. There is so many benefits to using this program as a fisherman.

Directions...

Download the the Google Earth ap. http://www.google.com/earth/index.html#utm_campaign=en&utm_medium=ha&utm_source=en-ha-na-us-sk-eargen&utm_term=earth%20download

Download my attached GS6.kmz file (this is the google earth file with the map)http://www.whitemountaingraphics.com/gs6/gs6.kmz

Drag and drop Eric's map with the green markings onto your desktop (The name of the file should be index.jpg)

Once you have the ap downloaded and both files on your desktop. Drag the GS6.kmz file into the Google Earth icon.

It should open up at Shelter Cove with Eric's map (index.jpg) overlayed on top of GE. Hopefully GE finds the index.jpg map by itself. If not you might have to point GE to the map on your desktop.

Ok good luck yall and I hope it works for out for everyone. Be safe and see you all at GS6. Mike
