...reading some of the responses made me sick  I've lost some respect.

You guys can drink your assess off on the water but don't expect any sympathy from me when put yourself in danger. And God forbid you put someone else in danger because of your stupidity.

Hey Craig, there are people who can drink alcohol responsibly in moderation. I know you aren't one of them. Just because a guy drinks on the water doesn't mean he is getting shitfaced and acting like an idiot. He may actually be recreating responsibly.

You are right Jack. There are. Thats not who Im talking about. Im talking about starting drinkng at  5am all through the day then going out. Can you see the difference Jack? Drinking and quick judgemnet in critical situations dont go hand in hand. Now get that bottle out of your purse and party on dude.

I really enjoy a beer first thing when I get on the water watching the sunrise...if I'm fishing, if I'm diving I think I dive better if I wait until I'm done to have my beers...

The amount of beers I might drink or not drink is my business and varies depending on where I am
Fishing/paddling, if I have to drive home etc.

I don't think I've seen anybody shitfaced on their kayaks...even at PIF.

Really sad all this had to come up on mike's welcome thread, and I almost let it be but felt I needed to say my piece.

I apologise for the threadjack Mulege Mike. Safety is paramount. We are all passionate about kayak fishing. If Ive offended anyone or caused grief here its on me.

Now im worried that i even made the post it was just a joke ask sledge he never said that and i dont even drink except on some rare occasions.I never had the desire after being a young kid and seeing a family member have a hard time in life because of drinking..But i have plenty of friends who do love to have a drink every now and then.And i agree that if it is done responsbly.Who cares i dont..But im sorry i havent even met any of you guys and i feel my posting has made some people angry...SORRY...NOW YOU GUYS JUST NEED TO FORGET IT ALL AND DO WHAT YOU GUYS LOVE FISHING OFF YOUR KAYAKS..AND FOR NOW ILL GO BACK TO MY PASSION WORKING ON MY CLASSIC CARS..

 Myself I have learned it's better to watch and learn then drown myself into the drink.

Fished Sunday at Trinidad with racinrob, novofish, yakhoper and the drink of the moment was H2O and had a great time just fishing and not drinking...last thursday with Mulege Mike on the AR was sober also...  So for you all's that think I drink all the time even when I wake up...it's an urban ledgend   I'm glad that this has semi resovled it's self... and Thanks to you peeps that welcome mikey into this community because it's an awesome place...

So in not so many words  Mulege Mike's ole lady (Cari) gave me a shirt a few years ago from Cabo and on the back of it it says  "Shut UP and Fish"    but seriously what this thread really brought out was "moderation" is a good thing...and if your going to drink off the water is the best place to do it, that's if your not driving...which I've been practicing lately...better late than never!!!!

Mikey you go out and get some after I left??? you said you were going to hit it again on sunday???
