Looks like I will be sitting this one out, weather looks nasty to fish; but I will most likely be there to hang out. I strongly recommend that you sit this one out, but if you dont please be EXTREMELY careful and don't go out alone. A few crabs are not worth the risk; we still have a long season to go:

TONIGHT
NW WINDS 15 TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 6 FT.
W SWELL 9 TO 12 FT AT 14 SECONDS.

SAT
W WINDS 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 4 FT IN THE MORNING...
BECOMING 2 FT OR LESS. W SWELL 8 TO 10 FT AT 12 SECONDS.
SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

SAT NIGHT
W WINDS 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 4 FT.
W SWELL 6 TO 8 FT. SHOWERS AND SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS.

SUN
NW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS...BECOMING
3 TO 4 FT. W SWELL 8 TO 10 FT. CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

The one who dies with the most toys, WINS!

Same conclusion Glenn  :smt009  Going to see if Sara is up for the drive to Bodega instead.  Sledge reports that the weather is fantastic today!

I don't think you can car camp because they close the gate by the Jetty, we were going to try that last year and they said it was a no go.

So you can drop traps anytime on friday and then just pick up any time on saturday?

This comes up every year on most sites, the theoretical loophole is that you're rock crabbing and will not retain any dungeness until it is legal to do so.  Every year there's a debate as to the legality of dropping early, the ethics of dropping early and the potential dfg backlash thats gonna happen if people continue to drop early.  I've read alot of first hand accounts of guys getting ticketed but have never met anyone thats actually been ticketed......but I've met people that drop early and have never been ticketed.

The rules are not 100% clear and there's plenty to be interpreted.  The one thing that I wouldn't do though is play around outside the harbor at midnight, please use caution.....they're only crabs.

If I get to HMB around 7 or before that, I'm down to hit the brewery.  I just dont know how long my GF is gonna keep me tonight before she lets me get on my way.  For some reason she just cant understand why I want to hang out in a parking lot all night in the cold (and possible rain) and sleep in my truck.  So if I get there by or around 7 I'll head over to the brewery, but I dont know exaclty what time I'll be there.
