Don,    I can / will  gladly  bring 3 or 4   super stable Raptors on Saturday morning.   We would need paddles though.

I have 3 extra paddles.  If I can't make it, I'll send them with Vallejo Dave.
Thanks Sonny.. hope you can make it.

I talked to Tom at the bamboo reef and he said he would let us use some of his rental wetsuits. We have to let him know how many and what sizes so Don please give me a call by monday night. My neighbor has about 10 crab pots and i have five that we can use in addition to my spare kayak and paddle. I will do breakfast.

sounds like Clavey has 6 to 8 suits, and a dozen splash jackets..

as far as size. it's just a guess but L, XL and could use 6 more or so...

Give ma call and i'll try to do the same...

Chadrock if you want to bring the setup you had for the crab steaming, cutting board and all. I can cook and clean crab for vets and the ziplock them. I have to leave around 1 do that's all I can really do.

Sure thing.

I've got a great idea how to make some Money for HOW...  :smt003

I'll find a drought stricken area and offer to relieve their drought by throwing a HOW event in their rain forsaken zone for a sizable donation.....

It's a lock as I'm 2 for 3 this year for planning events and getting rain....

what am I saying...?

Well, long range forcast is calling for "Significant Precipitation..."

it also looks as though the south swell has arrived a little early at Doran....

Not throwing in the towel yet, but it's on the table.....  :smt011

We have to take into consideration that these vets are going to be traveling 2 plus hours from Palo Alto... getting wet... and being driven home on a bus....

I've already told the therapist that they are going to need a change of clothes and blankets for the ride home...

But if we have heavy rain, nasty stormy swells...

Might be a bad set up for recovering vets out for their first time crabbing on yaks....

The last cancellation was a very tough call, but turned out to be the right one...

we'll see,  input welcome....

My doom and gloom may be a little early...

looks like the models are changing to showers for now....  still a significant low moving in...

if it's just showers with low wind, we should be ok....  we'll see...

The VA just called me today as they are now concerned about the weather...

I think we need to make the call by Tuesday....

Thanks....

Hang in there Don. As long as it is not raining hard or super windy, we can give these guys a wonderful experience at a spectacular place.

Can we build an open fire on the beach?  I agree that they will need a dry set of clothes to wear home.
ALso, I have a canopy that I can set up to protect from wind, and rain when we eat.

Better plan for the worst.

No fires allowed on the beach. we could have a fire in a weber in the picnic area right behind the beach. That is where most of the hanging out will happen anyways.who can bring a weber and firewood? we are going to need multiple e-z ups and many crab pots with bait jars and bouys. We probably need to set one e-zup with walls and carpet and propane heater as a changing room. I have an e-zup with walls but we need a propane heater and 10'x10' of astroturf. Unless they change on the bus or in the bathroom. The bathroom is a  cold place. I can probably bring ten fully rigged crab pots(5 from my neighbor), 2 kayaks with paddles and pfds, all the equipment and fix ins for breakfast burritos. We also need people to bring their crab cookers, ziploc bags and a lot of ice to cool the crab after cooking.Chad, bring your cutting board. Are the sherifs gonna make lunch?
