Mooch, now you can honestly say "I caught a whale!"

The pics of the bikinis bring back fond mammaries.  I had friends that would visit me and they would not leave the beach.  I would be cooking in my wetsuit but all they wanted to do was hang out at the beach and stare.

Thanks for the pics Mooch!  Heck of a nice beach to launch from.  I see why you came back early.  Those beach bunnies are eye catching!  I will put this event in my calendar for sure next year!

Should have planned on this instead of Oregon.
Glad you guys got into some fish and it looks like a great time was had by all.
Joel, same thing happened to me at OC many years ago. Hooked up, started reeling in, then the line started peeling off my reel and there was no way I could stop what ever it was I hooked. Just kept going. I had to tighten down the drag all the way and thumb the reel before I was completely spooled. Popped the leader but saved the rest of the line.  My guess is either a large shark or furbag.

Despite the lack of fish for the NorCal crew, I had a fun weekend chillin' with friends and family.  La Jolla is one of those special places that every kayak fisherman needs to experience at least once.  Also, it was cool to finally get a chance to fish the Moyer Memorial Tournament which, at one time, was the biggest kayak fishing derby on the west coast.  Our SoCal brothers support a great cause and I was glad we could be there to represent.

My dad really enjoyed having Mooch, Dustin, and Ben over at the house.  My ol' man was just a bit disappointed that you guys didn't drink more beer and booze. :smt002

The difference between La Jolla and our typical Nor Cal beach is :

In La Jolla, you see this :smt007....and in Nor Cal, you end up seeing this :smt011  :smt003
