The camper is from Australia through a guy in Canada.  WWW.kamparoo.com.    There is about a 5' by 6'5" bed and rest is hard floor where the kids sleep on mats.  The campground is fiddlers cove RV and marina.  The park is a DOD facility, but if you know some one in the military or DOD civilian they can get a guest in with them.  The access is to the bay side, but it was good to fish with the kid.

I had one a lot like that for years. I was about the 3rd  owner. It was probaby made in the 60's by Sears.   Just a thin metal box with a bed on top, nothing built in, no tanks, etc. Very light, until we stuffed the area under the bed with all our cooking gear, food, etc.  We got it into all kinds of tight spots, just emptied it and moved it by hand if we needed to.  Took a 6 week trip back east and to Canada.  i still recall some of the thundershowers pounding the tent but we stayed dry, and we could roll up the sides of the tent around the bed and tack up mosquito netting on humid nights.  The bed was just big enuf for two friendly adults. The kids slept on some chaise lounges that opened up flat, and folded up flat enuf to tote on top of the bed.  The tent just folded up on top of the bed and was covered by a canvas tarp. We always had to explain to the camp ground managers that it was more tent than camper so we'd get the right kind of spot. Lots of good memories.

Travis, check out the rear part of the tent near the motorhome.  See the trailer part?

I like the small low-profile trailer.  Can that thing be rigged with racks to haul kayaks too?

I have carried two kayaks on the metal rack on top without and kayak specific equipment. I think you could do one really solid with saddles mounted to the built in rack.   The tent part is on the left and the bed is in the actual trailer part on the right.

So it is a tent with a bed on a trailer?  Never seen one like that.

looks like the forrester could use some air-bag suspension helpers!   :smt002

we rented out house out for a year and went traveling july 2003 to july 2004.

our rig was an alaskan hydraulically-raising trucktop camper and a utility trailer. We had a family
of 4 and a dog using it for 1/4 of the year, rented houses otherwise. the camper is in the "down"
position here.

Sold the camper and utility trailer after that trip, but kept the truck.

I like the idea of a small trailer, but I would get one you can lock up a bit better. I would probably put
bigger tires on it too.

A 4x4 pickup with a lumber rack and a small trailer would work pretty well for kayak fishing trips. that would
be my choice for the way-outback type trips.

sometimes you can buy the trailers used for real cheap, I would buy it for the trip and sell it afterwards.

looks like fun!

Judging from the pictures on the website, the roof on that little trailer looks very sturdy.  Much more sturdy than the roof on my tent trailer.

There are several new "off-road" models of tent trailer that look pretty cool.  They have front racks to carry ATV's or motorcycles, bigger tires, and better suspensions.  It would be great to take one of these up North on an Alaskan road trip.  I worry about the little 12" tires on my trailer...

Hey that is pretty sweet little deal there. I have been looking at the Jumping Jack trailers. They are pretty cool too. Its like a utility trailer that has a popup trailer in. it sets up in about 5 minutes and sleeps up to 6 people. The cool thing bout it is when it is closed down you load all your gear on top of it. And I mean all. You can pet you dirt bikes, ATV's or kayaks. Check them out www.jumpingjacktrailers.com  :cowboy_cool: :camp
