With the split tail I imagine it is hard to drain a swamped raptor via the usual method (pushing up the boat by the bow and rocking the water against the rear bulkhead).  Was he able to perform a solo self rescue?

Uh, so Ya! Was he able to perform a solo self rescue? The answer could effect purchase plans. 1/2 to 1 mile out would be real bad!
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I wonder how he got into that situation. Was it swamped or was that after being flipped over.

Found the article on another site, so I wont post it.  But it sounded like he took on water while anchored after the wind waves kicked up.  Some mention of drain plugs too, but not sure where they go or how they work on a Raptor.

Does that mean there is no sealed rear bulkhead on this particular Sit Inside Kayak?  :smt012

or floatbags either I take it.

still, the missing drain plug thing has happened to other makes/models that are proven yaks so I wouldn't assume it to be a real problem yet.
