Bring beer while on shore to trade for a halibut steak....

I won't even go out in Port San Luis when we go down on vacation every year b/c of the shark attacks in that area. GWS like kayaks!!!!

I'm a sissy but OK with it.

Adam, to put it in perspective, I drove over a hundred convoys in the Sunni triangle in 2005, saw a few of those roadside bombs go off. If it is your time, it is your time.

Port San Luis really isn't worth fishing unless you paddle a few miles. I've never heard of a yak bitten there, But south off Vandenburg yes. Or north off Leffingwell yes. I'm sure they may be at the port. but there are so many Fur-bags the sharks have no interest in you.

Yea and I've heard that said about other places with lots of other things to eat and somehow a kayaker gets tagged. I'm sure I'm over reacting but with all that nice fishery up north without the big fish with the big teeth (it's the teeth that get you!!) i'm good with with it. I was out near the break wall one day and three or four sea lions were racing and jumping towards shore like their life depended on it - and it may have.....  Don't know if it's just more people on the water or more people with GOPRO's but there seems to be a lot more shark sightings and shark attacks than there used to be.

plus there's lots of big perch in Avila to keep me amused...

So many kayak encounters. I'm more worried paddling out To a dive site than getting in the water!
