For ARW I was thinking of a idea like this.  It is easily securable, and I won't use the belt, just have him wear a PDF and go out with him on back, only if it's calm out.

It will keep him dry, wife happy, and room to catch fish, hahahahhaha

What do you think?

I hail you as a genius, Chaeki!  The wife and kid in a really stable, dry ride - happy hanging out with you as you fish!  Very well done.   :smt001

I'd go for it...but my wife would not be happy if she saw me paddling around the Bay with our kid & car-seat strapped in the tankwell.    *debbie downer*

Hey, I've been wondering...would an electric bilge pump come in handy for the Raptor? I mean, you'd still want to bring a hand pump just in case. But it sure seems like a bilge w/a switch would be cool. Just throwing it out there.

I was thinking along the same line if my kid brother and his 6 yr old son want to join us at ARW.

In all the times I've gone out...  never had more than a half cup of water in the boat..    All those fish keep splashing water in.
You don't need an electric bilge pump...  ( hope Murphy didn't hear that )
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

Just curious. How do you plan on preparing your kid for emersion should anything go wrong?
I used to tow my son around when I float tubed. He had his own float tube with a car seat.
He was 1.5 years old.
They didn't make wetsuits or anything for kids back then so I made something for him.
And when he was old/big enough to go in a tandem kayak (as a passenger only) it was pretty tippy. Not because of the kayak but because being a kid he would lean way over to check things out, not realizing how much it threw things off.
I'm not trying to sound like a downer I am just speaking from experience.
Please make sure your kid is properly prepared.

I would only take him out like that on a flat lake, concept only.  :)
