My old cart that was stock with my 2005 Hobie Outback (that goes in the scupper holes) bit the dust at GMS.  Time for a replacement.

It had the cheesy wheels so its time for the Wheeleez upgrade.  Should I get the Hobie Trax so I still have the convenience of mounting via the scupper holes or go with the standard cart and strap it on?

I've heard the stories of the Hobie carts cracking the hull inside the scupper but I've never seen any wear and tear.  It sure is convenient but not versatile when it comes to the other two kayaks and the canoe.

What is the collective wisdom of this NCKA brethren and sistren?

I say go for the Wheeleez.   I'm sure 99.9% of our brothers here will agree with me  :smt003

Wheelez FTW. I ended up with 2: the big balloon-wheeled one and the regular one. Never had buyer's remorse even at the price.

Wheeleez premium kayak/beach cart is the only way to go. You can win one at Albion this year too.

+1. I doubled two OK scrambler XT's on a standard Wheeleze (smaller black tires) and it worked for a rough trail beach launch. That was before I got a big tire beach cart. I have never been let down by the wheeleze products.

It depends. If you plan to portage your yak across a sandy beach or over a long distance, then get the Wheeleez. But if you only plan to portage across flat paved roads or very short distances, then t he Wheeleez isn't necessary.

If you want proof of the Wheeleez durability,
Just spend the day at MBK and watch how many people use them.
Even MBK uses them to move their fleet to and from the beach.
I'll bet those wheels see at least a hundred miles on a nice summer day :smt003

Might as well buy the best wheels (wheelez) now than always upgrading. It goes the same with fishing gears. Why buy a cheap gear and upgrade later, when you can buy the one that you really want and keep/use it for a very long time.
