Okay, most of you probably don't know what it is, but those of you who do either love it or hate it.
I love it. The king of fruits! Goes well in smoothies or straight out of the rind.
Any durian fans out there?

Love that stinky fruit!  I bought some in the Philippines several years ago and tried to take it inside the hotel.  Got stopped at the door and we ended up giving it away.

Not so much like...can tolerate...smoothies is cool.  It is like Uni to me, doesn't really float my boat.

My number 1 favorite fruit.  I once ate the whole fruit at one seating.  Have you try to boil or broil the seeds and eat them?  Delicious!!!

I haven't eaten the seeds yet.
Sonny, any tips on picking good ones? Color, texture, etc? Sometimes they're really bad with chewy, stringy flesh. Those ones make me feel sick sometimes.

I, too, have eaten many a whole durian at one sitting.
Maybe at Albion we could have a durian eating contest!

My 6yr old daughter loves it.  I bought some in Singapore and snuck it into the Marriot and kept it double bagged in the shower.  It still stunk up the whole room.

Are you sure you can eat the Durian seeds?  I've had Jackfruit seeds, but never durian.  I like it in small quantities and only fresh.   Mangosteen...now you're talking.

Durian's seeds taste better than Jackfruit's seeds IMO (I tried them both).  The only trouble with Durian's seeds is they're slippery after boiled.  You cut it in half, discard the outer shell and eat the core.  The bigger the seed, the bigger the core.
